Halloween Descriptive Writing - Haunted House Activity with Rubrics
Students will enjoy this exciting descriptive writing activity where they are given the task of proposing a design for their community’s new Haunted House. This printable package includes a variety of activities and rubrics for assessment.
This Descriptive Writing: Haunted House Edition package includes:
Student Activities: Students will begin the activity by exploring various Halloween-themed descriptive words and transition to revising boring words and sentences into something more spooky and exciting.
Peer & Self-Editing Checklists: As an option, students can participate in peer and self-assessments where they can complete a checklist and reflect on their paragraph’s strengths and areas of focus.
Peer-Edit Feedback Note: In addition to this, included is a handout that talks about peer-editing and how to provide constructive and positive feedback. It mentions the 3 steps to providing effective feedback (compliment, suggest, correct).
Brochure Template: A blank template is involved for students to get creative. Moreover, a template with a general outline/suggestion is included as well.
Rubrics: Depending on how much you want to assign your students, rubrics include assessment for writing as well as the optional poster, brochure, or a combination of poster/brochure.

Alphabet Bingo
Try this Alphabet Bingo out with your students. This resource may be used for students to practice their letter recognition.

20 bingo cards (students can be play independently or as a team!)

Cursive Writing - Alphabet + Bellwork
This cursive writing package includes the full alphabet (one page per alphabet) along with extra sheets where students can trace and copy inspirational quotes as well as answer fun and silly questions as bellwork.
This package dedicates a full page per letter as well as one sheet with the entire alphabet (both lowercase and uppercase). Students can use this as weekly cursive writing practice during transitional periods (morning, spare time after tasks, etc.)
You can print these as individual worksheets or print the entire package and turn it into a workbook for the students to keep!
Report Writing - Animals (Digital)
This package includes 2 separate slideshows:
Part A: Includes a brief introduction to what report writing is. Students can complete a mini research activity (as a small group or independently) on a variety of animals (12!). The lesson starts with discussing the importance of using factual information in a report writing and students can complete a mini warm-up activity where they are to determine whether the presented information is a fact or lie. Again, this can be completed as a whole group (in class or virtually) or given to students as small group or independent.
Part B: Students will demonstrate their knowledge of report writing and complete a report using a PowerPoint template. The template requires students to explore their chosen animal’s habitat, appearance, life cycle, as well as explain WHY they chose their selected animal. The PowerPoint also includes a rubric for teachers to complete as well as space for feedback. This PowerPoint is editable and can be adjusted to your liking/appropriateness for your grade level.
